Welcome to week 2! Last week we worked on the parts for the truck. This week we will be working on the pieces that you can change out for each season of the year - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
If you need to review the instructions for how to crochet the truck, you can click here.
For spring time, we will be making some carrots and a cute little bunny butt. Summer includes some fun sunflowers that you can arrange anyway you like. You can also make as many as you would like.
For fall we will crochet some miniature pumpkins, and for winter we have snow, Christmas lights, and a tree.
Testers had a lot of fun making these and had some clever ideas for decorating and arranging their seasonal pieces.
You probably remember from last week that tester Tanya P. found a metal tray from Hobby Lobby and put magnets on her pieces so she can change hers with every season. She said she has crocheted letters for fall, Christmas, Easter, and summer! Love it!
Tester Laura F. of KETL Creations wanted to give her pumpkins some animation. She said her truck hit a bump in the road, and one is toppling out, ha ha!
Tester Jessica W. of JWhiz Crochet went all out with the colors and made several trucks. By the way, be sure to check out Jessica's shop if you are looking for eyes for your plushies, amigurumi, or applique animals. She has a great selection and some super fun Halloween-themed ones!
Getting back to the truck applique, I have other testers who have finished their trucks but are now working on making wall hangings and scenes to put their trucks on. Stephanie R. has made a tree and plans to add more items to create a complete Fall scene to go with her truck.
I can't wait to see how they turn out. I am sure you will have lots of great ideas for yours, too!
All of the testers had their own ideas for how to make their pieces interchangeable, so there is no one right or wrong way to do it. I temporarily have attached my pieces with safety pins, while Tanya is using magnets and other testers are trying velcro.
Whatever works best for you is the way to go!

Here is how you make the seasonal pieces to go in the bed of the truck.

There are a few ways you can decorate with your tree, lights and snow. Here is one possibility.
A second possibility is to put the lights on the tree first and then...
put it in the back of the truck. (You could also just put the tree standing separately outside of the truck if you wanted to.)
