On Monday January 18th I will be hosting a 4 week long "Mystery Crochet Along" via this blog! It will work in conjunction with the Orchid and Bee's VIP Facebook Group. There will be prizes and giveaways for all those that participate as well!
So how will this work and what will be the prizes?!
Every Monday I will make a blog post with a section of the Mystery Pattern. There will be a corresponding Facebook post in the VIP group (that I will link in the blog) where you can post progress photos, ask questions, and make guesses as to what the pattern name is.
I recommend having folders or zip loc bags that you can label and keep your "unit" pieces in. This particular pattern is an applique and will have 4 total units (1 per week).
Everyone who participates will get a printable Ad-Free PDF Copy of the Pattern. There will also be a "yarn prize" for whoever guesses closest to the exact name of the Pattern that will be revealed on the last day!
You can make as many guesses as to what the name of the pattern is up until the day I do the "Big Reveal" and give the assembly instructions (Friday, February 12th)! Remember, you are not trying to get what it is, you are trying to guess what the name of that Pattern is!
At the end of the CAL everyone will also be able to post their photos in the group of the finished project and whoever gets the most votes will also win a "Yarn Prize!"
We always have a lot of fun with our Mystery Crochet Along's and I give hints and clues in the Facebook group too!
For this mystery crochet along you will need a E 3.5mm crochet hook and a 3mm hook if available. If you do not have the 3mm you can still do this no worries.
Also we will be using worsted 4 yarn and there will be a variety of colors used. Everyone Monday I will post the colors needed for each unit but do not worry if you do not have them all. Half the fun is seeing how the "mystery pattern comes out!"
So if you do not have all the colors do not worry, just use what you have! Because this is an applique you can get away with using a lot of scraps! The base colors if you are curious are grey, black and a cream color. Everything else in the pattern you will pretty much be able to use choice of colors.
I think that just about covers all the basics for this Mystery CAL!
This is going to be a blast and we look forward to you joining us on Monday! Oh yeah! Make sure you are subscribed to the blog by visiting the home page and clicking "subscribe" so you do not miss any parts of the pattern!
If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the VIP group! Have a great rest of your weekend and we will see you on Monday!
Love and Blessings to each of you as always,
Karen E.
Can’t wait to add another appliqué to my library.
